We have appointed Professor Yuji Nagashima of Niigata Agro-Food University as a technical advisor of the International Fugu Association. Professor Nagashima enthusiastically lectured at the Japanese Fugu study session for Singapore SFA. Professor Nagashima is a leading researcher in Fugu poison research, and having him in our association brings us a decisive advantage while negotiating the safety of Japanese Fugu overseas.

Regarding the Japanese Fugu license revised by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for the first time in about 40 years, the examination system that has been different for each region will be unified.

The Science of Pufferfish As Food (the author and editor: Dr. Harumi Sakai, a former President of National Fisheries University) has been completed. Many researchers have introduced the biological interest of Fugu, the characteristics of the fish resources, the secrets of its deliciousness, the distribution of edible Fugu, and future issues as a food culture written in twelve chapters. I contributed a column about Fugu HACCP.

Seafood show Osaka 2021
Following the summer of 2020, we were able to organize a Fugu pavilion again.
Yoshida Suisan Co., Ltd. presented a Fugu and Blackthroat seaperch sushi.
Shoryu Co., Ltd. exhibited Tiger Puffer milt,
Fu Co., Ltd. was busy offering unseasoned grilled eel samples.
Approximately 5,400 buyers attended the entire seafood show,
Reflecting on the coronavirus pandemic, mail-order officials stood out.

We organized the first promotion of Japanese Fugu in Malaysia.
In cooperation with a local supplier, we provided Malaysian chefs with Fugu samples and campaigned to create unique Fugu dishes.
In addition, with the full cooperation of the Malay Asian Cuisine Shibuya restaurant, which is a famous Malaysian restaurant in Japan, we have developed dishes of "Japanese Fugu" that suit local tastes.

We organized the promotion of Japanese Fugu and other Japanese fish in Singapore.
We could not travel to Singapore due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Still, I'm very grateful to our Singapore representative Ms. Linda Loke. We wouldn't have a successful event without her.

November 29th is the day of Fugu
It was the day when the Japan Mariculture Association registered with the Japan Anniversary Association.
Our member's long-established factory in Shimonoseki provided Fugu sashimi, and this year also produced excellent posters and videos.
